1. Eligibility requirements

Applicants need to meet the following criteria to qualify for the program:

○ A university degree in German, German studies or related fields (e.g. from the Faculty of German Language and Literature) or a comparable degree from a Greek or international institution. Minimal grade requirement: B+/“zwei plus”/“λίαν καλώς”

○ Proficiency in Greek, German and a further language. For the linguistics strand of the program, this language is English.


2. Application Procedure

The application procedure involves three steps:

Step 1: Submission of documents to be specified in the list below to the department’s registry (room 307; Tel.: 210-7277307 and 210-7277308). Documents for application to the Fall semester are to be submitted June 10 until September 10 of the current year.

    • Application form for one of the two strands of the program (linguistics or literature).
    • CV
    • Copy of degree certificate (including verification of authenticity [DIKATSA], where applicable)
    • Course transcripts
    • Proof of language proficiency

Step 2: Three hour written exam (in German). Information about the topics to be covered by the exam can be found here 

Step 3: Half hour oral interview.
